Yes, Jeebus Almighty YES Bret is playing some amazing football. He’s got a solid-ish team behind him, and damnit…if he had another five years in them we’d be looking at the beginning of a freaking era…but facing the facts…
13-3 is a mighty impressive record…thru a really soft schedule. Don’t get me wrong, they had some really great games this season, but we got beat by the Bears…twice. Two games we really should have won. They had our number, we handed them the games.
And Dallas? Don’t get me started on Dallas. I hate the Cowboys just as much as the next guy, but the raw talent on that squad is just frightening. Romo ain’t the best, but he’s got a hell of a line to throw to.
I was hoping we’d play Washington next Sunday and up until the 4th…I thought that was going to happen. Nope, 22 points in the final quarter? 22 unanswered points? Yikes. Seattle is worked up. Mike knows how we play and H-Back looks like he’s got something to prove. You’d think Farve would have the same thing going on, eh?
No, Bret is playing because he loves the game. There is no other player in the NFL I like to watch as much as Farve, because damnit, he’s playing the game for the sake of the game. Win or lose, he’s out there having a good time. In a season like this it’s brilliant to watch.
But back to next Sunday. I will be floored if we can get past Seattle. Floored. If by some chance we manage it…the Cowboys or the Jags, eh?
Ouch. Tough call.

Not sure how you’d face the Jags unless the Jags make it to the Super Bowl!
Now the Giants…they’re a distinct possibility if they beat the Cowboys. If TO can make plays, it won’t happen. If he’s too hobbled, you’ll be facing the Giants next.
And Seattle is one-dimensional. I say Packers - Giants for the NFC Championship with GB eventually losing to the Brady & Moss Show Co-Starring Wes Welker & the Patriots Defense.
heh…I meant the Giants. Oops and all that.
yeah, I knew what you meant
The Seahawks basically breezed through their very weak division and could barely beat the Redskins last week (the score was not indicative of the game; the stats were even in the end.) I think that the Packers should be able to beat them.
The Pats are more beatable than people think, but they should win this weekend. Next weekend could be interesting, though. Full health Colts or a really pissed off Chargers (though I doubt that they beat the Colts.) Colts-Pats would be better than the Super Bowl probably will be; the Chargers should be beaten in a walkover, though. I don’t know, I’m too much a Sox fan maybe, but I still worry about the Jags, too.
I’m still not convinced that Eli can win when the game is tough. I think that the Cowboys should win it, even without Owens. Maybe the Giants will paste Jessica Simpson pictures to their helmets??
Well, I love being right
The playoffs are really shaping up almost exactly as i thought they would with the only miss I had was the Skins losing to Seattle. But I’ve kinda felt for a while that Pats - Pack was a likely SB matchup and personally I feel it will be a spectacular game.
On a side note, as an outside observer and not a fan of the Pats, anyone who thought that the Jags were capable of beating the Pats was nuts
And no, the Pats are not more beatable than I think because I thought in the offseason it would be shocking for them to lose any of their games. (Not that I thought they’d go undefeated…but I felt they’d be favored in every game this year)
They play like champions and that’s what they’ll be.
