New Freedonia

One of my regular customers came in today looking far more frazzled that usual. I asked him what was up and got quite the earful.

You see, the US Economy has crashed…or more to the point, is in the process of a crash. Within a few years the US is going to wake to to the reality that we’re all second class world citizens and we’re entering a depression that will make the 30’s see quaint.

On top of this, he sees the only way out of this is for the US to go to war. (Again, much like the depression of the 30’s led to WWII) Dropping a few nukes on China or what have you will what happens and then all Hell breaks loose.

He says Bush will invade Iran by the end of Summer, and stuff will get “too hot” to hold elections in ‘08. Bush will suspend the Constitution and declare Martial Law. The US will become a full police state with the illusion of freedom by ‘10.

He tells me all of this, completely in earnest. His eye get wild and he almost shakes when he goes into detail on a few points.

Then he looks around and asks me when the new D&D titles are due in.

Sometimes, my job is just a bit surreal.
