Several times in my life I’ve been a part of communal living. Some by my own choice, some by circumstance, but I find myself going back to it.
In a lot of ways it makes sense. Sharing space, resources, duties…there’s a lot that appeals to me. A lot that appeals to Jodi as well.
There are local groups all over Wisconsin that are building living co-ops and enjoying quite a bit of success. We’ve looked at some of them, but none really address our situation: families with children.
I realize that we’re probably alone in this, but Jo and I often muse about building a huge container home on some land down in Kenosha and inviting all out friends out there to build and live on a shared plot by the lake. A bit of farming, a bit of livestock.
…as long as I have a broadband connection, that is.
