If Sen. Obama does throw his hat into the ring for ‘08, do you think he does so with the expectation of:
-Winning the Office
-Changing the face of the Party
-Looking for a VP or other position in a Dem. admin
-Something else
…I like the guy, but I don’t see how he honestly thinks he has enough to win the Presidency on.
And of course as I write this, NPR reports that Obama has put together his group to look into the race…meaning he can raise money.
Hmmmm….Edwards/Obama?

Honestly I only voted for Kerry/Edwards because I was voting AGAINST Bush/Cheney. I never quite figured out what they stood for or why I should vote FOR them.
I really like Obama. He’s intelligent, well spoken, genuine, many of the qualities Bush lacks. I don’t feel that way about anyone else. I feel like he is a man of integrity who will make well reasoned choices for our country, not follow an extremist religious agenda.
I used to think Hillary was a possibility but I don’t like the things she has done in recent years. She’s been too far to the right for me.
I do have doubts that a first term Senator can come out of nowhere to become president.
Well, Obama does have more governmental experience than our current President - and more than Edwards as well. He taught Constitutional Law at Chicago, so you figure he is fairly well versed with the document (again, unlike our current guy).
I read his latest book and it is filled with platitudes - just what you need to say not to get yourself in trouble. Of course as a voter I’d rather him be more specific, but as a voter interested in seeing somebody like Obama win I’d rather he give the details only when and if he must.
I like Edwards, but I think that Obama is smarter, and may just surround himself with better people. That’s the key: who is going to run the details.
After reading her book, I just cannot vote for Hillary without holding my nose. She would be awful, as bad as our current President, and that is saying a lot.
The early caucuses and primaries are in relatively moderate states; Obama may get some momentum at the start. I’ll say this - he was in NH a few weeks ago and they not only sold out tickets, they had to turn people away. They said it was like the crowds they get as the campaigns are winding up, just before the election. There is a lot of interest out there.
