I had rather high hopes for this show. While I didn’t think it was going to approach the quality of The West Wing, I thought with Sorkin aboard, we were going to see some quality drama and wit.

I was…wrong.

It started strong enough, powerfully even. I thought getting the mains “back” into the show was handled well and executed in a somewhat reasonable fashion. And hey, I liked seeing Matt Perry back on TV, he can be fun to watch.

Each subsequent episode though…not so much.

Part of the problem here has got to be actually writing the show within the show, or the show for the show. I just don’t buy the “talent” these guys are supposedly bringing to the table. The few scraps of skits we’ve seen…yeah…they’ve recreated SNL pretty well…if they’re going for the current suck-factor. And someone please tell Sorkin that G&S isn’t comedy gold?

And Harriet? Just not funny. Sorry, I don’t buy the fact that this woman is the uber-talent of the cast. She can’t pull it off. She’s actually become annoying in the short amount of time she’s been on screen. Nothing she says or does indicates funny.

The best part of about the show thus far? The writer’s room. They’ve been “shut out” of the production since Matt and Danny come back to town, but so far, they’ve been the only ones on the whole show to provide a consistent funny.

If it’s around next season, I may look in on it again, but for now it’s just become a waste of time.

Monday night is yet again a TV wasteland..that is until Anthony Bourdain gives us some new episodes in Jan.

OK, this is starting to get really, really freaking stupid.

I’m getting damn sick and tired of the currently admin blaming Clinton for what they seem to be framing…Clinton “enabled” the current war on terror via his shortcomings in office. Is this the new GOP strategy now? Let’s get the base pissed off about Clinton again so they don’t feel so dirty voting for us in the mid-terms?

You boys have been in power for six freaking years now…and that’s the best you can come up with?

I shutter to think what the real GOP October Surprise will end up being.

The boy netted two 3rd place awards, and one 2nd place. Not bad at all for his first serious competition. He was just about beaming when he got home.

He also discovered the value of a good mouthguard…in a rather direct fashion.

We won, 4-1. Ben's shaping up to be quite the striker.

-Soccer game this morning. The boy runs the field, up and down, the entire game. He’s excited.

-Martial Arts tournament right after the freaking game. Yep, he’ll pay a full soccer game then compete.

Should prove to be interesting.

I’ve been pretty worried that we’ve been “over-scheduling” the boy. He’s got swim lessons on Monday, his Tai-Kwan-Do on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, soccer practice on Thursdays and games on Saturdays.

Jo’s opinion that him being active and engaged is what’s important. I tend to agree, but I don’t want my eight-year-old to start having stress issues or pushing himself too hard. He needs to have a childhood.

He’s been frank about it in the past. I just hope he has the emotional maturity to tell us if it’s really affecting him negatively.

Very proud of that boy. He’s an amazing kid.

I'm out of my freakin' mind.

Yes, I’m starting to actually blog again.

No, I don’t have any long term or short term plans on how it’s going to happen.

Why? Because I can and because I don’t think I’ve given it it’s due. Plus, it’s cheaper than therapy.

Do you care? Probably not, but those are the breaks.

If this works, it means I can post to the blog via my BlackBerry…and that's a good thing.

I’ve been given/seen a chance to possibly get my teacher cert. for the state, and would have the chance to be placed in a HS within about 24 months.

Of course, it means going about $24k more into debt in student loans…and leaving a job I really like in about a year…but it’s really appealing.
