…and it was actually a pretty good game.

But the color commentary really pissed me off. I mean really pissed me off.

Why?

Farve is a passing QB. It’s all he’s ever been. Last year was a bad, bad year for the man, throwing more interceptions than in any other season.

At the beginning of this season, it was clear that our new “coach” was going to concentrate on a running game…which failed miserably. In fact, if you looked at some of the cuts and pick ups early in the season, it’s pretty damn clear that the front office was looking to build the Post-Farve Packers, which makes sense of course…but the man can still play.

Anyway, in Miami…

The man was throwing yesterday. He was threading needles and hitting routes all over the place.

He hit a TD that was a real laser. Thread it right through 2 d’s and after a small tip, hit his mark.

And what did the color commenter have to say about it?

“Wow, what a bad and risky play. I can’t believe Farve would just take such a risk with where they are.”

Let’s review…the man just threw a touchdown… Apparently, I wasn’t the only one a bit…put off by the comment, as witnessed by the other commentator, “That’s Farve for you, he knows how to squeeze those in there.”

But the color guy wouldn’t let it go, “It’s just too risky. Miami was all over that zone and that was an easy pick waiting to happen.”

The kept going back to a reply of the TD the rest of the game so that this jackass could show us all why it was such a lousy and horrible play.

Packers won, by the way. Green and Driver actually played some good ball yesterday. Stepped up at a time they really needed to.

We’re not gonna see the post season, ain’t no way that’s gonna happen. But it was a great day of football.

There is only so far I can take this particular argument, but it was an interesting one.

One of my co-workers points out that perhaps Studio 60 is bad on purpose. Much like SNL has been dying a long, slow, lingering death…maybe we’re supposed to feel the same way about Studio 60?

Much like the first couple seasons of The West Wing, where Bartlet is pretty much crippled by polls and not wanting to do anything “too liberal” (Until Leo comes up with “Let Bartlet be Bartlet”), maybe we’re suppose to see this team get to a turning point where they realize that everything they’ve been doing is useless, utter crap…and then they make a huge turn-around.

Mind you, I don’t truly buy into this, but looking at Sorkin’s other efforts, it would fit a general patten he seems to fall into.

Still, I cannot buy the “Harriet Has Talent” bullshit at all.
