I’ve been given/seen a chance to possibly get my teacher cert. for the state, and would have the chance to be placed in a HS within about 24 months.
Of course, it means going about $24k more into debt in student loans…and leaving a job I really like in about a year…but it’s really appealing.

That’s very cool. Teaching is a noble calling. I have thought about it but, well, I’m too lazy and am afraid I would do more damage to the impressionable minds than good. Oh, and I just don’t have the best patience.
My son’s kindergarden teacher amazed me with her ability to teach 24 5 and 6 year olds and maintain order while maintaining a sweet, friendly voice and composure.
She was making less than half what I make in her second year. I felt overpaid.
