It’s been just a few weeks now and there are already a lot of things I like about OS X. They small annoyances have mostly passed (I still want a two-button mouse) but for the most part I am pretty happy with this thing.

Still, I really would not have gone this route had it not been work-provided.

  1. The last time I was a primary Mac user was during OS 9, so this has been a bit of a jolt.

However, the transition has been easier than going from OS 9 to WinXP. Like I said, there’s a lot to like.

The PowerBook itself is quite a device. I’ve been impressed with it.

  2. But to answer your original question (which I seem to have skirted), yes I prefer it to Windows XP for now. I think it’s a much better “mobile” OS and I think I’d like to keep to laptop-Mac/desktop-WinXP for awhile.

I’ll say this for it, it certainly feels faster than any WinXP machine I’ve used.

thanks Bud, you’ve bolstered my decision on getting the iBook to replace this hunk o’ junk i’m currently using.
