There’s been a stirring inside of me to try out a Mac once again.

Mind you, I adore their portables, I just can’t stand their desktops any longer.

I have a unique opportunity to score an iBook from where I work, a new one at that, for no real cost to me. Thus, it’s an attractive offer. There’s more to it, of course, but it just gets down to doing a bunch of development work for teh free.

SO yes, it is tempting. Looking at all of the apps that I use on a regular basis, it would not be all so difficult to switch over at this point, with the possible exception of gigs and gigs of files transfer that would have to happen.

Nothing that has to be decided anytime soon, and I’m sure that quite a few of my friends would try to “talk me down” from this idea…still…

  2. Well, I’ll try this again…

I think that you should go for it. I just got a new (well, new to me) Windows lappy and I have it running Open Office, Firefox, and Thunderbird. With cross-platform, excellent apps like this it seems to hardly matter whether you are running Windows, Mac or Linux these days.

Well, unless you wanna sync that PDA… and I have no doubt that you will succeed quite nicely with that.
